Less is more. Because we don’t need much, but we need what is essential
When Fujifilm approached me to make a project for the launch of the new model, I was immediately enthusiastic. Simply, this camera fits perfectly with the philosophy which I have been pursuing.
Fujifilm X-E4 is the perfect iconic of this philosophy.
X-E4 is a great artwork of compactness, with the distinctive minimalism design but still featuring the comfortable and steady handling. With every detail is minimally designed to meet the essential, X-E4 allows me to embrace all photography dreams in the hands.
Being a food photographer, sometimes minimalism is not easy.
Due to the nature of the work, a food photographer has to carry a lot of equipment and accessories to meet the strict demands of customers. In my backpack, there is always an abundance of cameras and lenses, but they are not often used. Because of carrying too many, I have suffered under the pressure that has limited and constrained my creativity.
Then I realized that I need to focus on the core values, prioritizing quality over quantity, choosing the most important things, and let go of unnecessary matters. What a surprise! This minimalist lifestyle has motivated photography creativity in me stronger than ever.
Holding X-E4 for the first time, I highly appreciate the advanced improvement and minimalism design of this camera. For example, the fast AF speed, the convenient command dials, the excellent image quality combing with the small and discreet size; easily to bring by my side every day. Moreover, X-E4 with its compact design, does not scare the model who standing in front of camera that help them express natural emotions easier than a bulky camera. In other words, X-E4 helps eliminate the boundaries between photographer and model, as well as helps the photographer concentrate on creativity without disturbing by unnecessary surroundings.

But X-E4 can do even more.
Every time looking for new inspirations, I often bring my camera to visit coffee shops for hours to capture random moments such as a hot cappuccino cup, a moment of the barista concentrated on roasting the new batch of coffee beans, or the moment of an anonymous guest read books by the sunny windows. However, coffee shop spaces are normally very tiny with low light, sometimes, it was hard to capture the moment right away. But it did not make it hard for the X-E4. Small design and very discreet body, along with the silent electronic shutter combined with new sensor X-Trans CMOS 4 have delivered photos with high sharpness and good quality without causing a distraction to the surrounding environment.

Equipped with the most advanced features like X-S10, X-E4 can totally meet the requirement of fast and accurate focus, even in low light conditions; the ability to record movie 4K or FHD 240fps along with new auto shooting modes. It will be a big mistake if forgetting to mention the unique 18 film simulations of Fujifilm that Including Classic Negative and Eterna Bleach Bypass. These Film Simulations do help to enhance the shooting experiences, create perfect SOOC photos without spending too much time to edit. The most surprising improvement of X-E4 is the new flip screen 180 degrees, which appeared on X-E Series for the first time, it is extremely useful to take a selfie or wefie with friends, or create top-down view-angle shooting.
Combining together with the discreet delicate body design of X-E4 is the new lens XF27mmF2.8 R WR – the “pancake” lens that had become a legend for Fujifilm users. The new generation of legendary lens comes with a focal length of 27mm and Aperture F2.8 (equivalent 40mm on 35mm Format), very popular for analog camera users. Despite the “strange” focal length, XF27mmF2.8 R WR still provides a wide-enough angle of view, but also close enough to shoot still life or street/documentary, and I have to say it is too enough to carry daily and also a nice combination with X-E4.

And what does X-E4 attract me most?
Although equipped with the new powerful features, X-E4 still owns a nice, compact, and delicate design, which has inspired the creativity in me. Moreover, this camera is also the perfect matching piece for my fashion style when carrying it daily. The most important thing is thanking to the discreet and minimalism design, X-E4 have pushed me to go back to the simple life. In the hustle of modern digital life, this camera remains a core value of photography, which is to preserve the most honest things by moments, memories, and emotions.
Fujifilm X-E4 is a perfect camera for me to create and enjoy this beautiful life, every day.
