GF110mmF5.6 T/S Macro impression
Photographing products and food in the most spectacular and appetizing way poses a new challenge every day. As a still life photographer, I work mostly in the studio, where I try to create the best possible images for my clients. As content becomes more fast-moving, the demands for photography continue to increase. However, in my profession, customers attach foremost importance to perfection and uniqueness.
With the GFX system, Fujifilm has created a camera system that integrates perfectly into the everyday work of product and food photographers. The GF lenses excel with brilliant imaging performance and are remarkably compact for a medium format system. Now, Fujifilm is expanding the range with the new FUJINON GF110mm T/S, which is a very intriguing lens for product and food photography.
In my daily studio work, the focus is usually on perfect sharpness, the optimal perspective, and the best possible composition of the image. The GF110mm T/S allows me to meet each of these points even better and more easily.
The tilt function lets me shift the focus perfectly, which gives me pin-sharp results with no need for time-consuming focus stitching on the computer. With this function I can either shift the sharpness across the entire image or deliberately place the focus point on a specific area of the image.
The shift function is especially useful with top-down perspectives. It enables me to position the camera directly above the object and prevent unwanted reflections of the camera within the object. Until now, when shooting from a low viewpoint, it was necessary to correct the supporting lines on the computer afterwards. With the GF110mm T/S, I can avoid this step and achieve the desired result natively from the camera.
Regarding image quality, the GF110mm T/S performs exceptionally well. Its macro function allows me to get remarkably close to my subject. The workmanship of the lens is superb. Every tilt/shift position can be locked, which is extremely helpful, especially with delicate settings.
Working on set with the GF110mm T/S was comfortable and rewarding. It was intuitive to use, and the rotation option allowed me to choose freely between portrait and landscape format without having to forego any functions. The combination of the GFX100S with its 100-megapixel sensor and the GF110mm T/S lens allows photographers to achieve brilliantly sharp and detailed results that I can easily print at any size.
The GF110mm T/S is a perfect addition to the existing lens range of the GFX system, which caters for the needs of every professional.
